Submit Your Video to Be a Part of DrumLady K's
Virtual Drum Choir

Drumspiration Video
Submission Deadline: Sept. 15, 2020
Greetings, community! THANK YOU for your interest in being a part of DrumLady K’s Virtual Drum Choir! Please read these instructions carefully, and let us know if you have any questions.
In order for your submission to be used, it is very important that you follow the guidelines here for both the audio and the video of your recording. Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1
Watch my video on the left below the photo (you can also right-click on it and save it to your computer). Practice playing along while I repeat the Drumspiration jingle THREE TIMES. Try playing a steady bass beat or rhythmic pattern that fits well under the jingle.
Here are the lyrics:
Drumspiration is the highlight of my week
Drumspiration made me strong when I felt weak
Drumspiration is learning and fun
Where we all connect through the drum
If you're worried you cannot sing and play at the same time, just play the bass beat (1, 2, 3, 4) - play the bass where you would naturally clap your hands while singing the rhythm. If you don’t have your own drum, you can play on anything you find in your home that makes sound! Feel free to be creative.
If you want to play an instrument such as a guitar or piano…you should know that the song is in the key of E major.
Step 2
Using a phone camera, ask a friend to record you playing along with my song (you could also use a tripod, if you like). It is very important that you:
1. Record the video in landscape (horizontal) mode (side-to-side so the image is wide) and be close enough to the camera so that your body from the waist up fills the screen top to bottom (use my video as a guide).
2. Set up my video on another device for you to listen along to while you play (you can't record and play on the same device at the same time!).
3. Start playing with me as soon as I count us in. Sound quality is important, so make sure you are recording in a quiet space without a lot of echo.
4. Play along with my recording in headphones…I can’t use your recording if it also includes sound from my recording!
Don’t worry if you have a few seconds of video at the beginning and end of your clips that we won’t need. We will edit them down for you.
Feel free to play along with friends and/or family and make your video as interesting and unique as possible! If there is anyone in your video, however, who is under the age of 18, his or her parent or legal guardian will need to sign a release form (let us know and we will send you one!).
Note that uploading your files constitutes your permission for us to use these videos for the purpose of making this (and only this) video along with any related promotional materials and also does not afford you or your subjects any rights to payment or royalties earned from its use.
When you are finished, upload your finished file at the link to the left. You will get an email from my partners at Orpheus Music Management to confirm. If you have any questions at all, please send an email to johnmark@orpheusmusic.net.
